I specialize in oil and watercolor
portraits. I paint portraits of families and pets, children, adults, artists,
professionals, corporate individuals, and others. I prefer to work with live
subjects, but can also use your photographs, including old black and
white. I like to have at least
one sitting session to make sketches and take photos. Your participation in selecting the
best pose and background for the portrait is always welcome and encouraged.
To give you an
opportunity to assess the "photographic" fidelity and creative
arrangement in my portraits, I have enclosed several reference photographs in
my portfolio that were used for the paintings. I also included several charcoal studies that I make and
use in the process of composing an oil painting. Most of the paintings can be viewed in high-resolution
format by clicking inside the area of each individual picture. However, this will be a slow process
if modem and phone line are used. Use the BACK button from your Web browser
to return to the picture.
A custom painted
portrait can be a unique and unconventional gift for: weddings or commitment

All of my painting
is performed in my Colorado studio. My paintings are created entirely by
hand, with the finest, archival quality materials.
